ABOUT SEA MOSS

WHAT IS SEA MOSS?
Sea moss is a generic name given to a collection of different species of red algae. It is typically known by several different botanical names, most commonly Gracilaria and Chondrus Crispus. The species Gracilaria (pictured above) is used in our Premium Sea Moss Gel and grows abundantly in warmer waters (i.e. the Caribbean Sea, Atlantic and Pacific Oceans). These waters are normally constantly flowing, open ocean currents, and they tend to be much clearer waters too. While Chondrus Crispus is a rarer species by comparison, it tends to grow more slowly in the cooler waters of the Northern Atlantic.
